Sometimes there are shows that bring people together. Right now, for the Fangirlish staff, Timeless is that show. Years ago, some of us came together through Arrow, and stayed together because the bonds of friendship had already been established, but in the last few years Timeless has given us the unique chance to fangirl again, to exchange all-caps texts and to just enjoy something, together.
And that’s why, today, we want to celebrate that, and at the same time, build up the hype for the fifth episode of Timeless a little more, with this episode “The Kennedy Curse” soundtrack. All credit goes to Mimi for the idea. Here it is, Mimi. We’re doing it every week. Let’s see if we can do this without giving too much away!
Lizzie’s Picks
“In My Veins” by Andrew Belle
Oh, you’re in my veins
And I cannot get you out
Oh, you’re all I taste
At night inside of my mouth
Oh, you run away
‘Cause I am not what you found
Oh, you’re in my veins
And I cannot get you out
“The Winner Takes It All” by ABBA
I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I’d be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules
“Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum
Picture perfect memories
Scattered all around the floor
Reaching for the phone ’cause, I can’t fight it anymore
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time
Lyra’s Picks
“Feelings” by Hayley Kiyoko
I over-communicate and feel too much
I just complicate it when I say too much
I laugh about it, dream about that casual touch
Sex, fire, sick and tired of acting all toughI’m hooked on all these feelings
I know exactly what I’m feelin’
“Fight Like a Girl” by Zolita*
I got a lot to say
No time to play, ay, I’m coming for ya
I’ll be standing tall
While I watch you fall, ay, you know I’m coming for ya
If you didn’t know I fight like a girl, fight like a girl
If you didn’t know I fight like a girl, fight like a girl
*Dedicated to all the badass women of Timeless, especially in 2×05
“Find Me” by Sigma and Birdy
If you’re ready, heart is open
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
If you’re searching for forever
I’ll be waiting
Come find me
Alyssa Picks
“Please Don’t Go” by Barcelona
All those arrows you threw, you threw them away
You kept falling in love, then one day
When you fell, you fell towards me
When you crashed in the clouds, you found me
“Goodbye to the Girl” by David Cook
Take a look at where we used to be
Now I’m just a vessel lost at see
I can’t get over you
I don’t know what to do
“Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur
I knew I loved you then
But you’d never know
‘Cause I played it cool when I was scared of letting go
I know I needed you
But I never showed
But I wanna stay with you until we’re grey and old
Just say you won’t let go
Consensus Pick
I hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you’ve dreamed of
And I wish to you joy and happiness
But above all this, I wish you love
