What is that thing they say? Oh yeah: ‘this the season. It might just mean a different thing than you thought. It might just mean ’tis the season for more Timeless.
Though, if you ask me, every season is the season for more Timeless. You want to give us more timeless in the heat of summer? We’ll take it. A spring gift? We’ll celebrate it. There’s no bad season for Timeless.
But, we do have a two-hour holiday special to think about – airing on NBC on Thursday, December 20th, at 8/7c, so with that in mind, clockblockers, once again, took things into their own hands.
No, but seriously, networks should considering hiring these people to do promotion for every show. Look at what they’ve accomplished so far!
And now, they’re taking on Times Square on Wednesday, November 28th, and we’ve got a sneak peek of what anyone who happens to find themselves there will see, up on a billboard.

The press release for the even explains that “Fans of NBC’s time travel show Timeless (affectionately dubbed “ClockBlockers”) continue to spread the word of their love for the show, aiming to recruit new viewers in hopes of securing a third season of the critically-acclaimed program. Following a successful stunt at San Diego Comic-Con in July, which prompted the network to order two additional episodes airing on December 20, just in time for the holiday season, the group’s latest project to spread the word is equally ambitious, having booked not one, but TWO billboards in New York City’s famous Times Square to run all day Wednesday, November 28. The selection of that date was very deliberate, as it coincides with the lighting of the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, just a few blocks away.
Alyson Lamble, who helped manage the project on behalf of the campaign, explains the timing: “We were already well into planning the billboards and considering dates when NBC announced the December 20 air date for the bonus episodes in late October. As soon as we were able to confirm availability for the billboard locations on the 28th, it just felt right. Times Square is, of course, a major tourist destination any time of year, but even more so over the holidays. With the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony at 30 Rock bringing added traffic into the city on that date, tens of thousands of people are going to see our message, with the potential to spread even further on social media. It was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.”
The 30-second spot begins with a teaser of the show’s premise – “What would you do if you had a time machine? Would you change the past or try to protect it?” – followed by information on how to catch up on the series on Hulu, and Christmas-themed messaging advertising the bonus episodes airing on NBC.
The spot will run 10 times per hour for a full 24-hour period in the following two locations:
Location #1 – Above the McDonald’s on Broadway between 46th and 47th streets. The 31’H x 55’W screen faces west onto the Broadway pedestrian plaza, adjacent to the TKTS booth and Duffy Square.
Location #2 – Above the Disney Store on Broadway between 45th and 46th streets. The 41’H x 72’W screen also faces west onto Times Square.
ClockBlockers who will be in the city for the day will be meeting at the following times and locations for potential
● 5:00 AM – Today Show studios, Rockefeller Center
● 1:30 PM (time is approximate, may be as late as 2PM) – Times Square, across the street from Location
● 7:00PM – Times Square, across the street from Location #2”
Kudos to the whole Save Timeless crew, and of course, to the amazingly talented Leanne, who keeps creating beautiful things for the campaign.
