‘STOP AND FANGIRL’ EPISODE 82: How Entertainment Shows Poverty

Here at Fangirlish we continue to support your right to fangirl over any fandom you desire – whether that is a book, a TV show, a movie, or even sports. That’s why we have Stop and Fangirl! So you can feel happy – and confident, loving whatever it is you love.

For our 22nd episode of season three, we break down and talk about the poor experience according to movies, TV shows, and the books we consume. Quite often we’re (two of us grew up in poverty) seen as the moral compass of the rich folks that come around to save us. While other times the poor people have a great heart and spirit that keeps us afloat while gang violence rains upon us. And ultimately, the experience of poverty is only told from a perspective of money and what it can do to get us away from our past experiences, as if they have no value unless money is involved.

So without further ado…STOP AND FANGIRL WITH US! And when you’re done, leave a comment here or on our Twitter on TV/books/movies get wrong when it comes to poverty!
