This fall, Ashley Tisdale is returning to television.
The actress has joined the cast of the CBS sitcom Carol’s Second Act, replacing Bonnie Dennison as Carol’s daughter Jenny, Deadline announced. The show is set to air this fall on Thursdays and comes from Trophy Wife creators Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins, Aaron Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment, Heaton and David Hunt’s FourBoys Entertainment and CBS TV Studios.
Tisdale will not be giving up her other job though. She will consider her role on Kapital Entertainments show, Merry Happy Whatever, which airs on Netflix.
Carol’s Second Act focuses on Patricia Heaton’s character, Carol. She’s lived her life, retired from teaching, raised two kids, and decides that for the second act of her life she is going to become a doctor. Tisdale’s character, Jenny, is a pharmaceutical rep at the hospital that Carol works at. Jenny is bubbly and has an outgoing personality and carefree spirit.
In addition to Heaton and Tisdale, Carol’s Second Act also stars Kyle MacLachlan, Ito Aghayere, Jean-Luc Bilodeau and Sabrina Jalees.
