I was a big fan of The Carrie Diaries, partially because of Austin Butler. There is something that is charismatic as fuck about him. You stare at him and you want to fantasize about him.
And that’s only going to grow because Austin Butler is going to playing one of the sexiest men that has ever graced this earth and my heart is like YAAASSSS!
He’s been cast to play Elvis Presley in the untitled biopic. The movie will chronicle Presley’s rise from nothing to icon and his time with his manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The Colonel will be played by Tom Hanks.

The movie will be directed by Baz Luhrman and will film early next year in Queensland, Australia.
Look, Butler may not have been the obvious choice among those that were rumored for the role – Harry Styles, Miles Teller, and Ansel Elgort. But Butler has the acting and singing chops that will fit the role. Sure I know him mostly from Switched at Birth, The Carrie Diaries, Zoey 101, and Life Unexpected, and I love all of those roles. I also saw him on Broadway and was blown away.
