Anne with An E has been cancelled. And to say that I’m angry would be an understatement.
I deserved more. We deserved more. We deserved to see Gilbert become a doctor, to see Anne become a teacher. We deserved to see them get married, and start a family.
But, instead, we just get …this. Three seasons, and that’s it.
*shakes fist at streaming service projections*
Netflix announced the news on the same post that announced the season three premiere, because they don’t want us to be happy, or to have nice things.

As if that weren’t enough, Amybeth Mcnulty also bid farewell to the character she made her own in a super emotional Instragram post:
And I could be grateful, and maybe at some point I will be. I have loved this adaptation, and I will continue to love the books and to love Anne, and hopefully, one day, I can teach my kids to do so.
But right now, I’m just angry. Angry at the business that dictates we don’t get to see stories through to conclusion. Angry that we’re losing this beautiful, brilliant, heartfelt show. I can’t be anything else.
