Ships. In entertainment, and especially, in fandom, we live and die by them. Which is why every Friday, we’ll be focusing on a couple, analyzing why we ship them, and overall, just proclaiming our eternal love for those couples that make us say:
I will go down with this ship; the Doctor/Rose ship if we’re being exact.
The Way They Looked at Each Other
Never have I ever seen the Doctor look at someone the way he looks at Rose Tyler. She is his sun, stars, and moon and there’s no one that can tell me otherwise. And I’m not even talking about during sweeping grand moments. I’m talking about those small moments where it’s just the Doctor and Rose, them against the world, and the way they look at each other in that moment. Simply perfectly. Absolutely love.
The Way They Knew Each Other
These two goobers can find the bright side of things especially when they’re together no matter what comes their way and it shows. The Doctor knows that Rose loves a good bet and Rose knows that the Doctor can’t resist proving a point if he can. Because of this, and many other similar moments, they manage to compliment each other. The yin to the yang to each other, the Time Lord and human version of it all.
The Way They Loved Each Other
During their time together Rose got to know two versions of the Doctor. And just like his love for her, an undeniable force not destroyed by time or distance, she loved him no matter what. Floppy eared or with glorious hair, she was there for him and he was there for her. And while tragic that they had to separate, it still makes my heart swell that somewhere out there, there’s a version of the Doctor that is growing old with Rose Tyler. A Doctor and his companion, forever linked by love.
The Way They Fought for Each Other
Out of all the relationships we’ve seen the Doctor have, none compare to how far Rose is willing to go for the Doctor. She looked into the heart of Tardis for goodness sake. Rose took in all that energy, all that power, and saved her friends and loved ones. In return the Doctor stopped her from destroying herself because of said power and followed a long line of instances where they were willing to go to the max to save the other because of a wonderful thing called love.
