I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since Center Stage came out. It’s one of my favorite movies of all time, and if you haven’t watched it – you need to. It’s a timeless tale of romance and dance and fitting in.
Our favorite person, Sweet/Vicious creator Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, along with others, is developing the project for television. And that sits well with us, because Jenny Kaytin is a genius.
The series is written by Robinson, and is a continuation of the movie, set in the world of dance. It follows a new group of dancers as they clash against the kind of dancers that the American Ballet Academy is known for.
Best of all – Cooper Nielsen is now the head of the ABA and the ABC.
God, I have always loved Cooper in the Center Stage films. Though Ethan Stiefel, the original Cooper Nielsen is not attached at this time.
Though at this point no talent from the original movie are attached we would love it if they were. Laurence Mark, the producer of the three Center Stage movies, and Temple Hill Entertainment are all set to produce.
We need this NOW.
Are you excited for Center Stage as a television show?
