Art has been a part of my life since I was a toddler and It has shaped me in so many ways. But, just like everything else, art is a journey with ups and downs. It is a learning experience and a voyage of self discovery. I want to take you along in this art expedition of mine and together we can discover what inspires, nurtures, and motivates us to nourish our creative minds!
Watercolor is one of my biggest passions when it comes to painting traditionally. I feel pretty confident in my skill with this medium but there’s always room for learning. Today I’m putting my abilities to the test and using a limited color palette. So, I will be using just 2 colors to make a watercolor painting!
For this painting, I choose purple and yellow colors because they complement each other. Since this is the first time I try to make a painting with such a limited pallet, I made it a little bit easier on myself.
Grab your favorite drink, a comfortable seat and Let’s Art!
When I made this painting I thought that it would be a piece of cake. I’ve seen several videos of people using just two colors and it seemed easy enough. But as I started working on my first try, I realized that it wouldn’t be as easy as I thought.
The first time I experimented with color was with watercolors. I used to mainly focus on watercolors before diving into digital art. So when I was painting this it kind of brought me back to a nostalgic place and It made me feel so calm.
When you produce as much art as I do to try to keep up with social media and content creation you kind of forget the reason why you love art so much. Art is my passion because it sends me to a safe place. Art has always been my escape and my protector in this world and something as simple as this challenge was a great reminder of that.
Here’s the final result of the painting!
