If we’re being honest, Disney is a machine. They are able to see things in others that we don’t see. They can look at talent and the have a formula that makes that talent a success.
Well that and the talent’s talent gets them there.
Some people have turned their back on their Disney roots, but Selena Gomez embraces hers. The all around badass was speaking to Allure about her time as a Disney actress on The Wizards of Waverly Place.
“I was extremely blessed to get picked out of Texas and chosen to become a part of one of the biggest machines in the world — it was my high school,” Selena told Allure.
We love that she’s honest and called Disney what it is – a machine. The company needs to evolve on a lot of things in my opinion, but one can’t deny that they put out a lot of content and give their actors a lot of breaks.
“I think the female characters on Disney Channel have a lot of strength. And my comedic timing, my improv skills, everything I experienced made me a better actress,” she added.
“When I was 13, I did the pilot for Wizards of Waverly Place,” Selena said. “I moved to L.A. when I was 14. [That] show went for about four and a half years. And I’m still trucking on.”
And we can’t wait to see what you keep doing Selena. You inspire us.
