Hahahaha, remember when I said don’t get attached, and then I said well, at least Kerra is probably making it through this season of Britannia, and then I said this show was about us caring for the women and then something about how I hoped something big happened in the season 1 finale? I take it all back, because now something big happened and I do not want it to.
Not that I cared about Kerra, let’s be clear. I didn’t care enough to mourn her, but the Game of Thrones twist works better when you care, I promise you, it does. The reason we remember Ned Stark’s death in the first season of that show that ended horribly is because we didn’t want him to die. We’d grown to care for him. It wasn’t just because he was, presumably, the main character.
Kerra’s death means nothing. We felt nothing during it, other than disgust, because of course, they had to give her the most horrible and dumbest death possible. I’m not sure what the point of her was, she made not one good decision in this entire season, and though she frequently looked great while making bad decisions, that’s all that can be said about her.

Though at this point, with everyone and their brother visiting the underworld and popping in and out, I’m not even sure we can believe the death is gonna stick.
On the other hand, there’s Antedia, who has now lost her precious son, which I presume is going to be an issue, because she was very upset at losing parts of her son, imagine how she’ll feel now. Aulus is a fool, because I don’t believe Antedia is going to be as naive as Kerra was, and I really wouldn’t want her as my enemy. Woman can hold a mean grudge.
So, hey, I’d be all for her and not-actually-dead-Kerra teaming up to take down Aulus, kthanx. I still only marginally care about the women.
And then there’s Cait, the promised one, and Divis, who is apparently the only one who will survive sticking by her, because better women have tried and yet …nothing. I look forward to her coming into her power, because as of right now she’s just a hell of a lot of promise and nothing big to show for it. I mean, glad she isn’t dead and all, but can we go on with the saving the world thing?

Preferably soon?
I’m bored here, and this is the season 1 finale. We still got the whole of season 2 to go, and a season 3 has been ordered. I presume that’s because this show is going to get interesting at some point, but the fact that I have to say that after watching an entire season means I am less than hopeful that I will finally like it.
What do you think? Are you looking forward to season 2 or are you about as done as I am? Share with us in the comments below!
