A Discovery of Witches, premiering in early January 2021, knows what it’s doing when it drops a trailer like they did. They know that we’ll be all over Diana’s strength and love for Matthew. They know that we’ll be all over Matthew and the scruff that he’s decided to let grow out. And that we’d be absolutely in the world that we glimpsed in season 2 of A Discovery of Witches.
Until the Sky One show is back, here are 7 moments we can’t stop replaying in our heads after watching the season 2 trailer for A Discovery of Witches!
1. Diana and Matthew holding hands
We will never get tired of Diana and Matthew holding hands and taking on the world at each other’s side. That’s what happens when you have an OTP as epic as this one. And them traveling to the past is a new journey that they will conquer, despite everything coming their way back in the day when England was a completely different place.
2. The whole world being in Diana’s grasp
This moment looked absolutely magical. Diana is starting to truly realize the extent of her powers and this is only the beginning. Being surrounded by those that know these spells and bits of witchcraft is going to help Diana grow in unexpected but amazing ways. Knox won’t know what hit him when the time comes.
3. Knox continuing being the actual worst
Knox is looking for immortality? Really? We don’t know why we expected anything different when it comes to this annoying caster of magic, but we did. This is his master plan? The thing he’s been looking for? Boring town, ticket for two! But knowing him as we do, there’s something more in the works. Something more this ponce is after.
4. Events are in motion to hurt them all
We’re glad the preview trailer is spending time in the present. Because everything that is happening isn’t just about the past. It’s about the future. It’s about Diana and Matthew’s family and the danger they’re in. Now more so than ever because Diana and Matthew are gone and the family has to get ready for the fight that is coming to them as well.
5. Diana being able to handle the journey
There is nothing hotter on A Discovery of Witches than Diana assuring Matthew of how damn capable she is. Hell, it’s Diana assuring us the viewer that she can do anything that she sets her mind to. Because being capable is hot. Learning how to care for yourself is hot. Showing the one you love that you can care for them too is hot. All hot. All Diana.
6. Diana and Matthew dancing again
Let us sit here and swoon over the beauty that is Diana and Matthew dancing. It has to be the dip, I’m telling you. There’s something so intimate about it. It’s her trusting him to carry her weight, her life, her love until the end of time. And I’d pay good money for the roles to be reversed. Diana seems like she’d dip the hell out of Matthew and he’d trust her to do it.
7. Diana looking like a goddess
Let’s just take a moment to honor the goddess that Teresa Palmer is. Because that ending, those couple of seconds of her looking royal AF made us fall in love with the actress all over again. It also made us appreciate Diana Bishop in a whole new light. That woman can pull anything off and we are so here for it!
