Cast
Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, W. Earl Brown, Michele Weaver, Christopher Gorham, and Caroline Rhea are all set to reprise their roles in Season 2. Deadline reports that Amanda Arcuri who plays Mickey’s daughter Skye Fraley has been promoted to a series regular. Along with Ian Quinlan who plays Deputy Hank Iglesias.
Recently, it was announced that Morena Baccarin’s real-life husband Ben McKenzie would guest star as Sheriff Wade in the Season 2 premiere. We, however, don’t know much about his role or how frequently we’ll see him. Also, we’ll be seeing Mickey’s sister Sharon (Diane Farr) and mother Eva Santos (Rachel Ticotin) return based on the trailer below.
What To Expect
Mickey mentally isn’t in a good place at the beginning of Sheriff Country Season 2. She has just arrested her father, who admitted to stealing money from the federal government. His frequent lies, along with her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal, have left Mickey heartbroken. Then, finding out her mother was alive and chose to abandon her for the thirty-five years Mickey believed she was dead was the last straw. Now, she’s a shell of the confident and strong woman she was before.
Mickey looks like a barely functioning human who doesn’t know right from left in the trailer below. Obviously, she’s struggling to cope with everything that’s happened to her. There will be days when she wants to cry in bed and not do anything. Other times, she’ll put everything she has into being Sheriff because it’s important to her.
Trying to separate work from her personal life will be her downfall because Boone and Cassidy will grow concerned about Mickey’s spiraling. The inevitable is going to happen because Mickey’s going to isolate herself. She’s going to hit rock bottom at some point throughout the season.
Ultimately, there’s no big tease of romance besides a moment where Boone kisses the department’s medical examiner. We knew their relationship was bound to happen after moments of flirting last season, so we’re okay with it. As for Boone and Mickey, who we hope will be fighting feelings for each other, nothing was shown to confirm anything yet.

The synopsis for Season 2, Episode 1 ‘Cyclone’ is: “As Sheriff Mickey Fox struggles to process a shocking revelation about her family, she races to save a troubled young woman whose descent into a dangerous criminal operation uncovers a growing threat to all of Edgewater.”
