Densi, NCIS: Los Angeles
For me Densi will always the gold standard for ships on TV. Seven seasons after first getting together, there’s nothing boring about Kensi and Deeks, even as they embark on a new journey, one that involves owning a house and maybe expanding their family. We have, after all, been here with them every step of the way, from reluctant partners, to each other’s persons, to falling in love, a stable relationship, marriage, and through the ups and downs, the highs and the issues, we have seen them take on every day just as they would take on their job: together. And we love them all the more for it.
Connell and Marianne, Normal People
This was anything but a smooth ride, and we might never agree with the way things ended, but it’s hard to make a list of best ships of 2020 without Connell and Marianne, because throughout everything that happened, these two loved each other. Really and truly loved each other. They gave it their all, and sometimes, especially when you’re young, that is not enough. But this kind of love deserves to be celebrated …even if it’s just on this list.
Book and Michael, Star Trek Discovery
Cleveland “Book” Booker and Michael Burnham on Star Trek: Discovery make my list for couple of the year for 2020. Book is the kind of man you want on your team. He’s got your back, he’s fun, he’s funny, loves animals (especially his gorgeous gigantic cat, Grudge), and is devastatingly handsome to boot. Michael is a force to be reckoned with–she’s determined, smart, and a true and faithful friend. Watching these two smooth out each other’s rough spots, risk everything to save each other, and finally confess their love and affection for one another after a year-long friendship sets the stage for a romance that has the potential to stand the test of time. I can’t wait to see where they land by the end of the season on Star Trek: Discovery.
And a little cheating …
Because this is my list, and I can, I’m adding two ships that are not technically 2020. The first one because The Witcher came out so late in 2019 I had already done my list for that year, and the second one because I just watched 12 Monkeys this year, and it might just be my favorite show ever, so I’m adding them to absolutely every list. Fight me.
Yennefer and Geralt, The Witcher
Most things about The Witcher worked, but one that worked even better than we had any right to expect was the relationship between Geralt and Yennefer. They don’t see eye to eye on many things – or most things, never found it within themselves to actually be honest with each other, and yet the love they felt for each other still managed to shine through. Even when they weren’t together, it felt like there was an invisible string that tied these two together, and we weren’t really complaining, as the show was infinitely better when they were.
Casserole, 12 Monkeys

It’s hard to write a ship that makes sense, has a good arc, angst and then also some time together to just be without messing it up, but 12 Monkeys did every one of the steps in the Casserole relationships perfectly, and then closed it off with just about the best ending you can give a couple, so really, how could they not make this list? We don’t even care that the show ended a couple of years ago, we might just put them on every list from here to eternity, that’s how much we love them.

I’d swear Vagrant Queen’s Amida was on this list, am I just imagining things?
I think you might be thinking of this list: https://fangirlish.com/2020/12/21/our-top-lgbtq-couples-of-2020/!
Was literally just on my way over to say that, and delete the comment LOL
