When 9-1-1 announced there would be a crossover between 9-1-1: Lone Star and the original, we were very interested. We didn’t know how this would work, but after watching, we have to say this crossover exceeded our expectations.
9-1-1: Lone Star 2×06 “Hold the Line” begins with the 118 arriving at San Angelo to help the 126 tame the fires. The first interaction the two groups have is less than stellar: Buck gets caught staring at Marjan, and she’s a little creeped out. Buck realizes she’s Firefox. No one else has any idea who Firefox is, but it was funny that Buck sounded a little hurt that she didn’t follow him back on Instagram.
Quickly the group learns about a few at-risk campers and an instructor trapped near the fire so Marjan, Paul, Judd head up the mountain along with Eddie. They find the counselor, but he needs help because the tissue on his chest is burned. Eddie cuts into his chest and saves the guy’s life. We’re impressed. And we think Marjan was, too.
Marjan and Eddie hang out and wait while Paul and Judd head off to find the one camper who’s still missing. While we loved the entire crossover and all the characters interacting, these two may have been our favorites. There’s definitely some chemistry between these two, and we hope to see them together again soon. Especially since they follow each other on Instagram now. (We also love that Eddie begged Marjan to follow Buck on Instagram.)
Judd and Paul find the camper they fix his leg as Hen gives them instructions on their radios. We also learn more about Judd and his past in this scene. This camp is for at-risk youth, and Judd was once just like these kids. It was nice that the show gave us this. We love learning more about our characters and their histories.

The scariest part of this episode involved Hen and Owen trying to survive the fire after their helicopter crashes. Luckily, they use their knowledge and training to survive as long as they can. And the rest of the 126 and 118 get to them just in time. We love that Buck and TK didn’t care about the consequences of stealing a firetruck. They just knew they had to get to their friends. We also love that the rest of the team didn’t try to stop them. We think Owen was pretty lucky to have Hen with him during this disaster.
Other Thoughts:
- We loved listening to TK and Buck trading rescue stories. They were so cute trying to one-up each other.
- It was funny that Carlos was so fascinated about working in California. Did Buck know Carlos’ cousin? Has he ever rescued someone at Disneyland? These are important questions.
Favorite Quotes:
“Is that the creepy guy that was staring at me?” “He’s harmless. Most of the time.”
“Hey dumbass and dumbasser. Did you stop to consider the consequences of what you’re about to do at all?” “You obviously don’t know Buck.”
“If you ever find yourself in L.A. we should get together.” “Sure. I gotta mention though I already have a boyfriend, and it’s pretty serious. But it was really nice meeting you.”
“It was a pleasure to share a foxhole with you, Captain.”
This crossover was so much fun, and we hope the shows do it again soon. Maybe next time we can include everyone.
