It doesn’t matter what The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do, I will support them. I love the way that titles don’t mean anything to the two of them. What does? Being there and being of service to the world.
Making the world a better place is what’s important to them.
The two had left their role as senior royals, and the arrangement was set to be revisited at the end of March. However, it was announced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be returning to their roles.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family,” the palace said.
“Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service.”
The two will retain their HRH titles, as well as their Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, though they do not use them.
Trusts and patronages will revert back to the Queen, including patronages at the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, the Rugby Football Union, the Rugby Football League, the Royal National Theatre, and the Association of Commonwealth Universities. In addition Harry will lose his honorary military titles, which will be redistributed to working members of the Royal Family.
In a statement put out by Harry and Meghan they said that they, “remain committed to their duty and service to the U.K. and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organizations they have represented regardless of official role…we can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
We’re excited to see what the future holds.
