In 9-1-1: Lone Star 2×07 “Displaced” our favorite characters all had to do some adjusting. TK officially becomes a paramedic, Owen discovers new information about the baby, and Tommy deals with some parenting drama.
In “Displaced,” TK starts his new career at the 126 as a paramedic. At first he’s really enthusiastic, but things don’t go as planned. Nancy’s not thrilled with his new system, since it’s different than how she did things with Tim. Nancy also tells TK that she appreciates him leaving the “cool kids” for the “nerds.”
At first he’s confused and doesn’t think the 126 has these divisions, but Carlos makes him see that she’s right. Nancy’s never been invited to any of their parties. TK ends up making this right by getting a memorial for Tim on the ambulance. And he lets Nancy fill in the letters. This was a nice gesture.

We’re enjoying getting to know Nancy, and we’re excited to see her interact with the rest of the 126. We definitely think having TK as a paramedic is a good thing.
During their shift, Tommy worries about missing her daughter’s black belt test because of spotty wi-fi, and TK suggests they go watch her daughter since it’s in their service area. Tommy’s excited, but it turns out her daughter doesn’t really want her there. Having Tommy there puts more pressure on her and makes her more nervous, and she leaves.
We didn’t like that her feelings were hurt and she fought with her husband, but it looked like they made up with that adorable food fight. We like that the show focuses on the difficulties and challenges of being a working mom.

At the beginning of “Displaced,” Gwyn moves her things into Owen’s place, and the two have issues about her decorating style. But by the end of the episode, that is the least of their problems. Gwyn finds out that she’s farther along in her pregnancy than she thought, and the baby isn’t Owen’s.
We were actually looking forward to seeing Owen raise another child. And while this baby is still TK’s half-brother, it’s not the same since they’ll have different fathers.
We kind of wish the show hadn’t even started this story. What was the point of having Owen be happy about a baby that wasn’t his? It just feels like a waste of time. But now the question is: will Gwyn stick around or will she go back home?
