Patrick J. Adams Goes to Bat For Meghan Markle, and We Stan

TV sets are funny places. You spend a lot of time with your costars, and more often than not, you end up really really loving them, or really, really hating them. It’s all that time together.

For the most part the Suits cast seems to come out on the really, really love side. And it’s especially been proven true lately, as more and more vitriol has come out against Meghan Markle, who the British press has always been less than appreciative over, and who the Royal Family itself doesn’t seem to care enough to protect.

But Patrick, who played Mike Ross, Markle’s love interest for the entirety of the Suits run has something to say about the subject.

A lot of somethings.

She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear. Like the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the last few years in astonishment.

He continued:

It sickened me to read the endless racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol spewed in her direction from all manner of media across the UK and the world but I also knew that Meghan was stronger than people realized or understood and they would regret underestimating her.

Then went in for the kill:

It’s OBSCENE that the Royal Family, who’s newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER, is promoting and amplifying accusations of “bullying” against a woman who herself was basically forced to flea the UK in order protect her family and her own mental health.

Meghan Markle is not a monster. She’s a strong woman with a kind heart who’s trying to make her way in an unimaginable situation. I don’t know the specifics of some incident from years ago but if late night emails makes you a horrible person, then I’m going to hell 50 times over.

Many of her personal friends have also come out in her defense, telling stories about her kindness and humanity.

We’d say your move, Royal Family, but we know they’ve got a lot of moves and none of them are good, so honestly, we hope they just stay quiet and leave Meghan, Duchess of Sussex alone. For good.
