Queen of the South is coming back next month, for the final time. That’s right, season 5 of the USA drama, which will premiere April 7th, is set to be the show’s last. And though there’s a part of us that feels like this is probably for the best – go out on top – there’s another part that’s a little sad.
“We could not be prouder of our entire cast and crew that joined us on this magnificent journey,” EPs Dailyn Rodriguez, Ben Lobato and David Friendly said in a statement. “Queen of the South began shooting in Mexico City, brought us to faraway places like Malta and Colombia and finally landed in New Orleans. We cannot wait to share the explosive final season with our devoted fans. And, of course, we could not have made this show without the talented and tireless Alice Braga, who brought our queen to life.”
With the announcement came something else – a trailer for season 5 of the show, which was delayed last year because of the pandemic. This means fans (and by that we mean us, we are fans) have had a long wait after a season 4 finale that left us aching for more.
