Anyone else watch Grease and want to be a Pink Lady? When I first saw Grease, I wasn’t focusing on the fact that all of the Pink Ladies were way too old to be in high school. All I wanted was that jacket.
The Pink Ladies were cool. They were the popular girls that took no shit. And I loved them.
I never thought we’d be getting more of them, but here we are and things that we never thought would happen are. Paramount Television Studios’, Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, has been ordered to series by Paramount Plus.
We’re going to need the jackets available to purchase, because I want to be a Pink Lady.
The series is described as, “Four years before Sandy and Danny’s relationship throws Rydell High into a tailspin. Before rock ‘n’ roll ruled and before the T-Birds were the coolest guys in school, four fed-up, outcast girls dare to have fun on their own terms and spark a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever. The hour-long musical comedy will highlight the rise of the original four Pink Ladies— Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchy— long before they had to whip into shape the clean-cut new girl from Australia.”
The series will span 10 episodes and is being written by Annabel Oakes (ATypical). No shocker, Temple Hill, is producing the series. Temple Hill is also working with Paramount Pictures on the Grease prequel movie Summer Lovin.
No word on a release date yet, but you know we’re going to be watching.
