“This world ain’t never had no respect for Richard Williams,” Richard tells his daughters, Venus and Serena, in the trailer for the upcoming movie, King Richard. “But they’re going to respect y’all.”
And he is right – the world does respect Venus and Serena Williams. The tennis superstars changed the world of sports forever. The movie showcases the power of family, perseverance and unwavering belief in ones destiny.
Serena and Venus Williams exec produced the project alongside their sister Isha Price. In the movie, we see Richard as he navigates the world and careers of his daughters, Venus (Saniyya Sidney) and Serena Williams (Demi Singleton).
The movie has been highly anticipated, starring Will Smith and also includes such amazing actors as Aunjanue Ellis, Jon Bernthal, Tony Goldwyn, and Dylan McDermott.
The movie is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and is from a script that was written by Zach Baylin.
King Richard will be released in theaters in the U.S. on November 19th and will be available to stream on HBO Max (via their Ad-Free Plan) for 31 days following its theatrical release.
