As Eclipso grows near, a storm brews in Blue Valley on Stargirl 2×05, “Summer School: Chapter Five.” It’s only natural that Eclipso’s arrival outside of the black diamond would come as Pat and Courtney are at odds about the JSA’s next moves.
Eclipso is someone who thrives off that kind of chaos. He’ll only use the JSA’s disorganization as a means to beat them. The JSA is tenacious but they can’t defeat what they don’t understand.
Furthermore, it doesn’t bode well for Blue Valley that the black darkness can bring the darkness out of people and places. The figurative meaning to that sentiment is already worrying enough.
It’s not comforting to think of literal darkness encompassing Blue Valley. The darkness that The Shade can use to his advantage, too. But where there’s all that darkness, there’s plenty of light, too. The JSA beat the odds before. Who’s to say they can’t do it again?
Cindy Burman is a major pain in their side moving forward, though. In “Summer School: Chapter Five,” she sets her sights on Cameron Mahkent. Hopefully, Courtney gets to him first and makes a far more genuine and lasting connection with him than Cindy.
It may be futile to wish for something genuine and lasting since it’s difficult to imagine Courtney telling Cameron the truth about his father’s death. Maybe, just maybe, this episode could be the start of something new for them.
