Foundation is many things. It’s an adaptation of an epic sci-fi saga. It’s a story about change, and how people can affect that change. It’s also, surprisingly – because the books never were – a story about people. One of those people is Lou Llobell’s Gaal Dornick. We had the chance to sit down with the actress to talk about bringing such an iconic work to life, what it meant to step into the shoes of Gaal – a character who was originally a man – and also, what’s beyond the show, aka the true message of Foundation.
As someone who grew up with the books, it was an absolute pleasure to find both that I could see what I adored growing up in this adaptation, and that this amazing woman – and others like her – were ready to turn this story into even more than what it is. If you’re a sci-fi fan, Foundation is a must. If you aren’t, well …you might still find something for you here. Just give it a chance.
