What do you do with a family member you’ve recently had a big argument with? Go on a road trip! Long periods spent in a confined space are the best place to get everything out on the table and jam to an epic road trip playlist. So Courtney and Pat hit the road to see if Jennie can help the team stop Eclipso on Stargirl 2×10, “Summer School: Chapter Ten.”
Jennie left Blue Valley at the end of “Summer School: Chapter Two,” but now she could find her way back. The tagline of this episode being chosen family must be an indication of Jennie finding her people with Courtney, Pat, and the JSA. Everyone needs someone, and Jennie is not exempt from that.
Maybe adding Jennie to the group long-term will be precisely what the JSA needs to be less part-time superhero coworkers and more of a chosen family. There must be some development with that group dynamic before the end of the season. Whether the JSA reunites or not, it’s necessary.
Otherwise, “Summer School: Chapter Ten” will hopefully give Barbara and Beth meatier roles in the season. It would be a significant move for Beth now that she’s officially Dr. Mid-Nite. Barbara and Beth’s team-up could answer one of the biggest questions about The Shade. Beth’s goggles could be the key that unlocks the truth about Emily.
