Rounding out our series of Star Trek: Prodigy roundtable interviews are Kevin and Dan Hageman and Ben Hibon. Our showrunners have a great track record for making genre work accessible to young audiences. The experience the Hagemans and Hibon have in animation makes them solid choices to captain the ship. Learn a little more about these guys. Then we’ll get to the interview.
Kevin & Dan Hageman–Brothers in Filmmaking
First, meet brothers, Kevin and Dan Hageman. They are no strangers to filmmaking. They have several notable writing credits on their resume. These include The Lego Movie, Hotel Transylvania, and Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans. These works are fantastic entry points to science fiction and fantasy stories for younger viewers. With their creativity, the Hagemans bring a fresh voice to an established franchise. Because of their unique style, I look forward to their work with Star Trek: Prodigy.
Ben Hibon–Animation Director Extraordinaire
Second, meet animation director Ben Hibon. He has great experience directing established franchise properties. Hibon directed the Tale of the Three Brothers in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. He also directed the Heavenly Sword video game series. Ben is a gifted visual storyteller.
