Look, if you give us Michelle Yeoh in a movie, we’re going to watch it. Simple. She’s an immensely talented actress and she deserves to lead as many movies as she wants. And her fanbase, including us, will follow her. That’s why we’re especially excited for her latest film Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known as the Daniels duo, it tells the story of “an exhausted Chinese American woman who can’t seem to finish her taxes.” Without learning more, we’re sold already. There’s something so especially painful about filing your taxes and again, if it stars Yeoh, we’re going to watch it.
Then the multi-verse is brought into the mix. Not the Marvel multiverse. We’re talking the Yeoh multiverse. Because apparently Yeoh’s character manages to find the cracks between the universe. This leads her on a wild adventure where she obviously learns a thing or two about herself, her family, and her ability to kick ass; which we always approve because it’s Michelle Yeoh.
And who is the only hope? Who is the one to save us all? Well, Yeoh, of course! Because a great evil lurks that is spreading across parallel universes. And Yeoh’s character must use everything she’s learned from different versions of herself to save the entirety of existence. And honestly, we still think that taxes seem harder.
