A new year has arrived and with that means new movies. Lots and lots of new movies. We love movies and we’re looking forward to so many of them. No, seriously, we are. We even have a list of films we’re looking forward to this year that you should definitely check out. Anyhoo, our latest and upcoming obsession is the Spanish-language film Through My Window based on the book A través de mi Ventana by Wattpad writer Ariana Godoy.
For those of you who may not be familiar with Ariana Godoy, she’s from Venezuela and is ranked on Wattpad as number one in the Spanish-language teen fiction writer’s category. She has published more than 20 stories on the popular social reading platform. Through My Window (A través de mi Ventana) was first written on Wattpad in 2016. The film is Wattpad’s first project with Netflix.

Here’s the synopsis for the film:
Raquel’s longtime crush on her next-door neighbor turns into something more when he starts developing feelings for her, despite his family’s objections.
As always, a film synopsis doesn’t typically do any movie justice so check out the trailer and see for yourselves why we’re swooning already.
First off, hello chemistry! Second, how much of a badass is Raquel? Also, we don’t know about you but if a guy was stealing our Wi-Fi we’d be pissed. Oh hell, who are we kidding, if a guy was stealing our Wi-Fi and looked like Ares Hidalgo, we’d probably give him the password so he wouldn’t have to steal it anymore. Don’t you just love a good enemies to lovers type of story? We do and we can’t wait to see what happens with these two. If you’re a fan of books like the After series by Anna Todd which also started on Wattpad and was adapted for the big screen, then Through My Window (A través de mi Ventana) is right up your alley.

Through My Window (A través de mi Ventana) was directed by Marçal Forés and produced by Netflix Spain. The film stars Clara Galle as Raquel and Julio Peña will play her love interest Ares Hidalgo. While you wait for the film to release in February, you can check out the book which was recently translated to English and is available for purchase now. We already have our copy and plan to start reading immediately.
