On this week’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, the ice storm continues to wreck havoc on our favorite characters. But we’re going to be honest: we felt a little let down with “Shock and Thaw.” It’s not that it was a horrible episode, it’s just that the last two episodes were so intense that we were expecting more this week. But let’s review.

TK and Paul will be okay…. Right?
Paul is in the hospital, but he seems to be recovering just fine. This was one of our favorite scenes in the episode. We couldn’t help but laugh at all the ridiculous things Lindsey’s parents wanted to give him, and how humiliated Lindsay was at them. It was also hilarious how much jealous Mateo was. He definitely wanted that Maserati.
We really loved Paul, Judd, and Mateo hanging out together and seeing their friendship outside of the firehouse. Hopefully they can continue this outside of the hospital once everyone is healed.
Unfortunately, things aren’t looking so good for TK. It was heartbreaking watching Nancy, Tommy, and Carlos (especially Carlos) just sitting there waiting and wishing for TK to get better. The only good part about this is knowing Carlos and TK definitely aren’t finished. It’s obvious that Carlos is still in love with TK, and if these two don’t reunite after all of this, we know fans are going to be livid.

Marjan Marwani. Badass.
One of the most disappointing things about “Shock and Thaw” was that Owen didn’t make it to the hospital to be with his son. We thought that would happen in this episode, but we’re going to have to wait a little longer. Owen was preoccupied with other events this week. Honestly, we thought this storyline dragged on a little too long. The ending was the most exciting part with Marjan saving the day. Making the police car explode so Owen could take out the bad guy was genius, and we couldn’t be more proud of her.
But, seriously, can someone please tell Owen about TK now?

The Next Disaster
The writers saved the most exciting part of the episode for last. Billy stops by Grace’s house to talk about Judd. Of course, Grace doesn’t really want to talk to him (who could blame her?) and asks him to leave. But her water breaks, and she’s stuck with him. He at least did the decent thing by not letting her drive to the hospital by herself.
Unfortunately, for Grace and Billy, the car gets stuck in the snow and ice. It looks like Grace isn’t going to make it to the hospital for the birth of her daughter. We’re really hoping that Judd finds her in time. Knowing Judd and how much he loves Grace and his baby, he would move heaven and earth to find them.
We’re also going to keep Grace in our thoughts because being stuck in a car with Billy while in labor is probably the worst thing that could ever happen to someone. Seriously, she doesn’t deserve that.
It looks like next will hopefully be the end of the ice storm. This has been fun and all, but the 126 needs a break! They’ve been put through the ringer, and they need time to recover.
