You could not pay us enough to return to high school. The list of things that we would rather do – like get a root canal – is long.
But that doesn’t mean that we won’t watch a movie that is all about the return to someones senior year. Those who can not and will not do, watch (yes, that’s a play on The Wedding Planner line).
Rebel Wilson is the lead in Senior Year. The movie, which will come from Paramount Players, tells the story of a “cheerleader who wakes up after a 20 year coma and returns to high school trying to regain her status and become the prom queen that she wanted to be.”
The superstar gave the official first look today on her Instagram account. And hey, great news for all of us – the movie will be on Netflix!
“Got my butterfly clips and glitter, and I’m ready to head back to 2002! #SeniorYear premieres May 13 on @netflix” the star captioned the post.
Justin Hartley, Alicia Silverstone, Angourie Rice, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Mary Holland and Chris Parnell also star. Alex Hardcastle on board to direct.
Brandon Scott Jones is wrote the script based on a spec from Andrew Knauer and Arthur Pielli.
Senior Year will premiere on Netflix, May 13th. Will you be watching?
