The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has released another look at what’s to come for the the Amazon Prime series. A set of photos tease who is set to join us on this journey into the Second Age. The twist is that the only thing visible are their hands, weapons, and clothes. And while that might not mean much to some, for us that are starving for content, it means the world.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power foreshadows the epic story of everything that came before the movies aka the forging of the iconic rings. It will take us all back to an era “in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads.”
Showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay commented on The Rings of Power and said that it unites all the major stories of Middle-earth’s Second age: the forging of the rings, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the epic tale of Númenor, and the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.”
The Rings of Power will also tell the story of the greatest villain that J.RR. Tolkien created: Sauron. Dubbed as one of the “greatest villains that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen,” he threatened to cover the world in darkness and take away the peace that many in The Rings of Power were used to, from the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon to the farthest reaches of this world.
