Through My Window (A Traves De Mi Ventana) has been out on Netflix for two weeks now and the reception has been very positive. The Spanish language love story based on the book by Ariana Godoy has been doing well internationally and in the US. Fans of the books were happy to finally see their favorite characters Raquel and Ares (Rares) come to life onscreen. You can include me in this because I too was just as excited. The two lead actors Clara Galle (Raquel) and Julio Pena (Ares) did a fantastic job. Though there were things we wish had been done differently with the adaptation, the film still left us wanting more.
It looks like we have gotten our wish. Netflix has made the announcement that there are two more films to come in the series. Here’s what they had to say:
Ares and Raquel’s love story isn’t done yet!
We’re making two Through my Window / A través de mi ventana sequels that will tell new stories about Raquel & Ares — as well as the rest of the characters we love. And all of it with Ariana Godoy’s (@Arix05’s) involvement!
How exciting is this? We desperately want more of Raquel and Are’s story. It should not really come as a surprise that Netflix has decided to continue the series considering the book A través de mi Ventana, is number one in a series based on the Hidalgo brothers- Ares, Artemis, and Apolo. At this time only A través de mi Ventana has been translated to English so we hope the rest of the books will be as well so we can learn more. What we love about this is that the author Ariana Godoy is going to be involved in the entire process. With the plan to bring new stories for Raquel and Ares, it is so important to have the person behind these characters at the helm. Nobody knows book characters like the author does and there is no one out there who can tell me otherwise.
Since these two films will in fact be new stories, I am also curious about just how deep we’re going to go into seeing the other Hidalgo brother’s relationships. In Through My Window, the movie alluded to them by showing us Artemis and Claudia as well as Apolo and Daniela. Raquel and Ares would have to be in college for the new films because he left to pursue his Medical school dreams and Raquel wants to be a writer. I have so many thoughts about where they could go with these films, and I really cannot wait to continue the journey with RARES.
At this time there are no other details about the upcoming films. I do wonder if they will keep the same director for the next two or if they’ll be switching it up. I wouldn’t mind seeing what a female director would do with the story. Whatever happens we will be watching for all the news that comes and as always we will keep you posted.
How do you feel about getting sequels for Through My Window? Are you excited for more RARES on your screen? Share your thoughts with us.
