When I was younger, my Grandma used to tell me that Johnny Carson was such a dapper gentleman. That was her way of saying that he was a hot piece of man candy, or at least that is how I am interpreting it. Pretty sure she’s cursing at me from heaven.
Everything I know about Johnny Carson, I learned from my Grandma and my Mom. But would I like to know more? Sure, why not? Granted my attention wasn’t really piqued until they said that Joseph Gordon Levitt would be playing him.
Look, I know, I know – he may not be your thing. But then I am telling you to watch (500) Days of Summer and tell me that he’s not the most adorable person ever.
The series has been written by Deadwood creator David Milch and to be directed by Jay Roach, will feature Gordon-Levitt. The title of the series would be The King Of Late Night. It’s been taken out to the masses and is in hot demand.
The series would focus on, “Johnny’s diehard connection to his audience overlapped with his lifelong desire for a basic quality of life, and how his beloved on-screen persona came into conflict with the more colorful aspects of his personal life.”
Johnny Carson hosted The Tonight Show for 30 years, from 1962-92. He was a very private man, which we can respect.
While there have been multiple attempts to bring Carson’s story to life, we’re hoping that this one moves forward.
Cause again – Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
