The Mikaelson family will reunite on Legacies later this season!
According to TV Line, the Legacies Season 4 episode titled “Everything That Can Be Lost May Also Be Found” will have Hope see some familiar faces. The episode will air on Wednesday, April 14th.
The episode’s official logline reads: “Hope continues to be swirled in confusion and fighting her humanity, which results in her seeing the people who mean the most to her: Rebekah, Marcel, Kol, and Freya.”
It continues: “Kaleb wants to introduce Cleo to his world, including those who had the most profound influence on his path. Meanwhile, Lizzie devises a plan to get in someone’s good graces.”
The first part of that description reveals that Charles Michael Davis as Marcel Gerard and Nathaniel Buzolic as Kol Mikaelson (knowns for their roles on The Originals and The Vampire Diaries) aren’t the only ones Hope will see. Freya and Rebekah will return to Legacies, too.
As exciting as such a large-scale reunion like this sounds, the wording of the description raises some suspicions. Hope is confused and fighting for her humanity, so maybe she sees her family even though they aren’t physically there.
That won’t make such a reunion any less emotionally devastating or satisfying (depending on how it goes), but it does change its context. Though, there is a chance at least Rebekah will be there in person since she still has Hope’s necklace.
That family heirloom may be the key to her humanity, after all. If possible, we would love for everyone to be there in person. But, we will have to wait a few weeks to find out.
Until then, there’s plenty to celebrate in such a magical, guest-star occasion. It’ll be the first time Hope is (figuratively or literally) in the same room with this many of her family members since The Originals ended in 2018.
Of course, both Riley Voelkel and Claire Holt have appeared on Legacies, opposite Danielle Rose Russell, before — both this season, to be exact. Freya helped Hope transition on Legacies Season 4 Episode 3, “We All Knew This Day Was Coming.”
Rebekah tried and failed to get through to Hope’s humanity on Legacies Season 4 Episode 5, “I Thought You’d Be Happier to See Me.”
Despite their countless (often bloody) arguments, the Mikaelsons are usually stronger together, so maybe they’ll be able to convince Hope to turn her humanity back on together.
It will be quite an emotional rollercoaster to see Hope reunite with her brotherly figure in Marcel and see Marcel and Rebekah together again for the first time since The Originals‘ series finale.
Alongside Rebekah and Freya, Kol and Marcel are the only remaining living members of Hope’s family and will surely have some tales to tug at Hope’s heartstrings — either about their pasts or Klaus’s.
Maybe Kol will even share an update about his uber-powerful wife, notable witch Davina Claire.
Most importantly, it will be nice if Hope’s humanity does come back and she’s surrounded by the people she loves the most — Mikaelsons and Super Squad members alike.
Essentially, this Legacies episode is already making plenty of The Vampire Dairies Universe fans very, very happy.
