UPDATE on 4/25/2022: Misha Collins has clarified that he is not bisexual and that it was a poor choice of words. Honestly, we’re good either way. Live your best life and your fans will still have your back.
Misha Collins, best known for his role as Castiel on The CW series Supernatural, has apparently come out. And honestly, he did it in the most chill way possible. During a recent appearance at a Supernatural convention, the 47-year-old actor and philanthropist said he was bisexual. And honestly, we’re always proud of someone living their truth and maybe this is Collins’ opportunity to do just that.
Featured below, Collins is speaking to a room full of fans and seemingly having a good time. Then he starts asking the audience questions. “How many of you would consider yourself introverts?” He followed that with “How many extroverts?” Then he asked the questions that made the room erupt in cheer because the queer community always brings the best energy. “And how many bisexuals?”
Then, in the most chill way possible, Collins says, “I’m all three.” Honestly, we expected the crowd to lose their minds. But everything was chill, everything was calm, and the show kept going. And in a way that’s an even bigger reaction because it’s normalizing queer identities. Like they say, “We’re here, we’re queer.” And we’re not going anywhere.
So congratulations Misha Collins. You are one of us and we welcome you to this community. Watch out for the biweekly huddle and newsletter. You should be getting the notification soon. Signed, a fellow bisexual.
Interesting! I’m homosexual but my partner is bi and we’d like to see more acceptance of bisexuals within the LGBTQ community, you know?
