In this week’s 9-1-1: Lone Star we discovered Owen’s cause of his anger problem, and it was not what we were expecting. Also in “Down to Clown”, Grace and Judd get a house guest for a week that isn’t exactly welcome, and TK and Carlos get a new pet. Let’s review.
Uncle Dave
Remember Dave from the 9-1-1 call center? We have to admit, we had kind of forgotten about him. But he’s back. And after experiencing his first death at the call center, Grace invites him over for dinner to make him feel better. After dinner, Judd decides that Dave will crash on their couch for the week while his plumbing issues get fixed at his place.
As you can imagine, Grace isn’t exactly thrilled with this living arrangement. He uses all of her hot water in the shower, and he insists on carpooling. He sings showtunes in the car! Grace has to escape and goes over to Tommy’s to drink and complain. Tommy says he has to go.
After Dave accidentally records himself instead of Charlie taking her first steps, Grace and Judd agree. When Grace tries to talk to Dave the next day at work, he says it’s just not working. He makes it sound like it’s all Grace’s fault and she’s smothering him! What a jerk. We think it’s safe to say that Grace won’t be inviting Dave over for dinner again anytime soon.
Clown Down! Clown Down!
The 126 are called to a child’s birthday to rescue a clown. This rescue was funny especially after realizing the clown was the kid’s dad. But Owen completely freaks out at the scene, and it’s because he’s terrified of clowns. His therapist was right, and it turns out that his anger stems from being afraid of clowns. And after further investigation, Owen realizes his anger issues are truly about his dad who he hasn’t seen since he was 12.
This was an interesting discovery, and we were somewhat surprised. We knew Owen had issues with women and relationships with them, but we didn’t know he had father issues, too. Does this mean we’re going to meet Owen’s dad soon? But we’re so glad that Owen is going to therapy again and taking his anger management problem seriously.
Pet Lizard?
The 126 is called to help a wounded man who has a lizard trapped in his leg. They get the lizard out of the wound, but TK decides it’s cute and wants to keep it. Carlos is pretty grossed out by the lizard and notes that this isn’t exactly the “pet” he had in mind. He gets freaked out later when the lizard escapes his cage and ends up crawling on him. It was adorable that Carlos let the lizard stay because TK liked it, and we know that Carlos loves TK.
But can everyone agree not to bring home any more weird pets or weird co-workers in future episodes? Thanks.
What did you think of “Down to Clown”? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
