Sure, we may not be Tim Allen’s biggest fan (not really a fan at all), but we do love The Santa Clause franchise. Judge as you want, but we’re trash for holiday movies and will watch and judge them all.
And when we read the news about The Santa Clause being turned into a limited series, well you know that we are definitely going to watch and have a lot to say.
There has been an addition to the cast, Matilda Lawler. The young actress has joined the cast as Betty, Santa’s demanding Chief of Staff. She’s the elf that knows all, keeps Santa on his toes, and just keeps everything going. She’s a no nonsense else and her life is her job.
The series will be about, “Scott Calvin is on the brink 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole.”
Now we aren’t sure that it will be titled The Santa Clause, after all it is a working title. But we’re excited to see both Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell both return to a holiday world that we love.Kal Penn is also returning to the series. Joining The Santa Clause as series regulars are Austin Kane, Rupali Redd, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, and Devin Bright.
