‘Legacies’ 4×17 Preview: “Into the Woods”

Hope and Landon take on limbo — and potentially the Necromancer — together on Legacies 4×17 “Into the Woods.”

Every member of the Super Squad is beyond strong and has taken on plenty of unforeseen battles, but Landon’s persistence to keep a positive attitude in limbo has been a sight to see. His genuine goodness is one of the best things about his character.

It’s comforting to know that he and Hope find each other when they truly need each other at the end of Legacies 4×16 “I Wouldn’t Be Standing Here If It Weren’t For You.” That fateful meeting contributes to the best parts of their epic romance, despite their being in limbo, which means their souls hang in the balance.

It’s reasonable to believe Hope doing some deep soul searching could tie to Landon finding his groove in limbo. Landon has quite the way with people in the afterlife, and Hope could use his advice. Besides Lizzie, Landon’s advice is the person she’d probably most likely hear out right now.

But, Landon’s next surprise could be something entirely unrelated to Hope since the Necromancer is keen to make their time in limbo as contentious as possible.

Meanwhile, back at the Salvatore School, Lizzie steps in to help Ethan as he struggles after that life-threatening scare at the end of the last episode. While the promo video teases a Mizzie heart-to-heart, it may not end as best as they hope.

MG and Lizzie have been distant all season for various reasons, so it’ll be interesting to see how their first on-screen conversation goes since Lizzie’s return to the Salvatore School. Because of that distance, it may be odd if MG divulges his long-kept secret to Lizzie — unless it has something to do with her.

Lizzie already knows about MG’s feelings for her, and she knows that not everyone may make it out alive of their fight against Ken (and whichever gods may show up next). So, maybe MG’s secret has something to do with Ethan, but that could be wishful thinking on my end.

Alternatively, after such a long time away from each other, this conversation could be precisely what MG and Lizzie need to get their friends-to-lovers romance back on track. Legacies could take this narrative in multiple ways.

All the while, Ric does what he does best — ponders putting a precarious plan into action. If we put the promo video and photos together, Ric’s idea likely involves Ben. Since Ben is on the outs with Jed for the moment (hopefully, they’ll make up soon), Ben could agree to whatever Ric suggests.

Legacies isn’t easing up on the JedBen angst just yet, and I’m not against that!
