“From the mind of Guillermo Del Toro experience new worlds and 8 chilling stories…” is how the official teaser trailer for ‘Guillermo Del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities’ opens. The teaser which was showcased during Netflix’s annual ‘Geeked Week’ then goes on to list off the directors who are part of this upcoming Netflix anthology. Even that’s done in a unique way. Instead of just outright listing off each director’s name, he chose to list off the projects that most of fans know them for.
Check it out and see what we mean below.
Honestly, if you weren’t already hooked as soon as you saw that this was a Guillermo Del Toro project, then the rest of the directors should have grabbed your attention. I mean, come on, we’ve got Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight), Jennifer Kent (The Babadook), David Prior (The Empty Man), and Ana Lily Amirpour (A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night) to name a few. We’re excited over here. And don’t even get us started on the amazing cast.
Previously, when this project was announced we told you that Ben Barnes, Crispin Glover, Essie Davis, Glynn Turman, and F. Murray Abraham had been cast. Now we’ve got more casting news to share. In addition to the names we just mentioned, Rupert Grint, Andrew Lincoln, Charlyne Yi, Eric Andre, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Kate Micucci, and Sofia Boutella have joined this awesome project.
Now, we know that this teaser didn’t give us everything, but the visuals were definitely creepy, and it pretty much told us this is going to be a scary show. Oh, and the other thing we know is we still don’t have an official release date. The anthology is in fact releasing this year, but we don’t know what month it will be. You know we’re going to be watching for the full trailer and that release date because we can’t wait.
