Anna Baryshnikov (Dickinson) will be joining Kristen Stewart (Spencer) in the romantic thriller Love Lies Bleeding according to Deadline. It’s set to be an A24 production. And with this studio’s previous movies like Everything Everywhere All at Once and Midsommar, expectations are already high. Add the fact that there are two queer women acting in a romance by BAFTA Award-nominated director Rose Glass, known for Saint Maud, and it’s a recipe for greatness.
What makes things even more interesting, of the little we know, is that it’s reportedly set in the world of bodybuilding and “examining a romance fueled by ego, desire, and the American Dream. That means that both or at least one of these talented women are going to be training and changing their bodies to embody the physicality of what is required to bring this to life. Our vote is for Stewart who already proved herself capable of training in Charlie’s Angels and who we’d love to see more of in Love Lies Bleeding.
The film will be written by Glass and Weronika Tofilska, with the latter being known for Love Life and His Dark Materials. A24 will run the project alongside Film4, which recently released Titane and Last Night in Soho, with the former handling the release of the pictures global release. Lobo Films will see Andrea Cornwell producing with Oliver Kassman from Escape Plan Productions joining.
