You should know by now that the Gabriel series is by far one of our favorite adaptations from Passionflix. The streaming service, known for offering original movies and series adapted from bestselling romance books, honestly struck gold the minute Tosca Musk chose to bring the books by New York Times bestselling author Sylvain Reynard to life onscreen.
It’s no surprise that it has done so well. Romance is a popular genre because we love to watch people fall in love on our screens. It’s even better if it comes from a book we love. What makes us keep coming back for more of Julia and Gabriel’s story is that they are two people who are not perfect. They don’t have their stuff together either, and both have past traumas and tons of baggage to work through.
Since its release, there have been a total of five films in the Gabriel series. We are now a few weeks away from the sixth film: Gabriel’s Rapture: Part Three. If you’re not familiar with the breakdown of these films, allow us to explain. What Musk did with these films is to take the books and break them each down into three parts. Gabriel’s Inferno contains Gabriel’s Inferno: Part One, Gabriel’s Inferno: Part Two, and Gabriel’s Inferno: Part Three. Gabriel’s Rapture is done the same way, so we think you get the point.
While every single one of the films within the Gabriel franchise has been emotional, we have to say that Gabriel’s Rapture has, by far, been the most emotional installment thus far. In Gabriel’s Inferno, we were witnessing the courtship of Julia and Gabriel. In Gabriel’s Rapture, we’re watching them not only experience their love in ways they have always wanted to. We’re also seeing the pain that comes with their new relationship.
After Julia and Gabriel were able to have a romantic Italian getaway, once they returned home, reality set in for them. Julia had to face the academic board at her school because she was accused of getting good grades due to having a sexual relationship with Gabriel, who happened to be her Italian Studies Professor. During the hearing, Gabriel fell on the proverbial sword and took the blame for everything. He did it not only to protect Julia, but also to make sure that her academic dreams were not dashed.
This had a huge impact on his and Julia’s relationship, and they are now experiencing a separation. In Gabriel’s Rapture: Part Three, we will see the aftermath of his decision and watch as Julia attempts to move on with her life while Gabriel searches for some sort of peace in order to ultimately find his way back to Julia. The official trailer is out now. And from the looks of it, we’re not ready for how emotional this one is going to be.
