The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming to an end and the trailer that premiered at NYCC 2022 has us hyped.
In the trailer, we definitely see a bunch of footage from season one. In many ways it acts as a reminder of everything that Galadriel, Arondir, Nori, Durin, the humans, and the rest of the cast of characters have gone through. It also is a glimpse into the future as to what an unlikely alliance between elves, dwarves, and humans can look like. But wait, there’s plenty of pain to get through before we get there.
Besides those reminders, there’s plenty of new stuff in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season one finale trailer. There’s Galadriel in a new dark dress, looking as if she is morning. There’s definitely pain coming for this warrior elf. Then there’s Celebrimbor forging “things” and acting like power is the bees knees. This obviously leads to the rings being forged and the madness that follows when Sauron is like, “You know what? I’mma make one ring to rule them all. That sounds about right!”
But the one thing that got me about this The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season one finale trailer are the Eminem wannabees. Last we saw of them they were on the hunt for The Stranger. Combine that with the fact that it sounds like these Eminem wannabees are about to reveal the character who has been masquerading as a normal being instead of the great evil known as Sauron…and we’re worried.
What if The Stranger is Sauron? And he’s just forgotten or was away gaining power? What if he’s the change? We’re holding onto hope that another character appears and steals our breath away with the reveal. Our money is on Halbrand. That’s not a king. That’s someone who is running and very conveniently in the middle of everything to do with the Elves, which makes access to Celembrimbor (who needs a little inspiration about the potential of gaudy rings) that much easier.
Plus…imagine how insane it would be that Galadriel has kind of gained feelings/come to trust Halbrand and he’s Sauron? To say this would make things complicated is an understatement! But we’re here for it and hope to listen to every bit of this when Felicia Day, the NYCC 2022 panel moderator for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, launches her official podcast for the show titled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Official Podcast.
