Star Trek: Picard season 3 is coming! It’s practically here! If you’ve been following along with me here at Fangirlish, you know I’ve been working on my series of “Things to Do During the Star Trek Hiatus.” I’m now happy to include “geeking out at the season 3 trailer” as part of that list. This trailer is giving me high hopes for Picard season 3.
Phasers Set to Stunning!
First up, it looks like we’ve finally got Seven of Nine back on a Starfleet ship, as she should’ve been since the moment she arrived back with Voyager. She’s in command of the Stargazer, as we saw her at the end of Star Trek: Picard season 2. I’m digging this style of uniform. It’s also nice to see Jonathan Frakes back as Riker alongside Admiral Picard for Picard season 3.
Second, there’s a LOT in here. So much so that it’s a bit challenging to try to navigate all of it. But one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a bumpy ride. We’ve got action. We’ve got Dr. Crusher urging Picard to trust no one! There are explosions! Space battles! Yelling! Also, Raffi vs. Worf?! I’m here for that!
Finally, I’ve got a feeling that this last ride out with the Enterprise-D crew is going to be a heartbreaker. “We fight or we die!” says Picard at the opening of this trailer. Are we going to lose any of our beloved Star Trek: The Next Generation crewmembers? Is this truly goodbye to the man, the myth, the legend Jean-Luc Picard? Sir Patrick Stewart has mentioned that he’d be open to doing a fourth season of Picard, but does that mean that he’s made it out alive of this final season? Could this all be misdirection?! We’ll have to watch and find out.
