Well, today I binge watched Sex/Life and I have to say season two was a lot better than season one. It’s not often that I would say that, because well, I think we can all agree, sequels normally aren’t better.
The reason it was better? Well because of the story line and the way it all played out. You could find yourself rooting for Billie and everyone involved. But yes, we definitely missed more of Brad, because hey, Adam Demos is always a good time.
Brad was there, but he definitely had a reduced storyline. It was something that was necessary for Billie to find her way and go through her relationship with Majid. And well, Adam Demos said the same thing when asked about Brad’s reduced presence in the second season.
“That’s more of a creator’s and writer’s question to answer, I think, just because those are the genius minds that come up with this stuff.” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Adam continued, “But I think, maybe, in order to allow the Billie and Majid storyline, for you to buy into it, maybe Brad can’t always be there as much. But yeah, I’m not too sure. It’s nice to be missed, if people do miss Brad. But I did understand that in order for these storylines to work, you have to allow them to take their own form and have a life of their own. When you’re reading the scripts and knowing that you come full circle and they end up together, it wasn’t too bad to go through.”
He wasn’t surprised by his reduced presence, because the writers warned him what was going to happen, “They sort of crafted season two and were like, ‘This is how it’s gonna go.’ I always say, a lot smarter people than me come up with these storylines and create shows; I certainly couldn’t do it. They were like, ‘This is why it’s happening.’ And it made sense in order to allow the audience to follow Billie’s journey with Majid and her new experiences; sometimes you can’t have Brad there all the time.”
