Love is a wonderful thing. Love is a beautiful thing. Well or so I am told because I am jaded and love terrifies me. Even with that being said, I have to admit that I do love seeing people find love.
Especially when it’s some of my favorite people. Okay, well some of my favorite celebrities, because I don’t know these people personally.
Kate Bosworth and Justin Long have been dating for sometime and as a fan, I have never seen them happier. While on the Life Is Short with Justin Long podcast the two confirmed their engagement.
“I thought it was the most romantic and honest and loving proposal,” Kate said when talking about the proposal.
Now when it comes to proposals, I think that a lot of us think that it needs to be some big and grandiose thing. They don’t necessarily have to be. What matters is that they come from the heart.
“I did have a special thing planned around [Kate’s] birthday and about a month before that, life, like we were talking about, things change, and sometimes they change pretty drastically without any warnings,” Justin said. Have to admit that is too true.
He continued, “It was a moment where it just felt so organic and it felt connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through, like, a real life change, and so it came out in a very organic way,”
Kate went on to talk about the piece of advice their therapist gave them, “Make sure that you’re pretty consistently asking the other what you need, or asking the other what they need.”
This is definitely the best advice and we’re thrilled that these two are bringing the fact that they went to therapy out there. Why? Because we should all be open about therapy and vocalize it.
Kate said about the proposal, “I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session and I looked at Justin and I said … I smiled at you, and I said, ‘What do you need?’”
The next part made me cry. Kate continued, “And he, like, really looked at me and he said, ‘To spend my life with you.’ And I smiled and I said, ‘Well, yeah, you have that. Oh my gosh, you have that,’ and he said, ‘No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you.'”
Sorry, BRB, ugly crying, cause that is beautiful. So excited for these two!
