It’s no secret that we love Dungeons & Dragons and, after the movie, we want to explore more of this universe. So we are happy that the live-action that is being prepared at Paramount+ already has its showrunner signed. Do you want to know more? Keep reading!
Here we go!
Dungeons & Dragons is the most popular tabletop RPG of all time. Players design characters that can range from human to elf to dwarf and beyond and then select a class such as a paladin, fighter, ranger, barbarian, or several others. With a world so rich in fantasy, movies and now live-action is a fan’s dream.
According to Variety, Drew Crevello will act as showrunner as well as executive producer of the Dungeons & Dragons live-action show. And he will do it alone for the first time. Paramount+ is confident that its commitment to this series will bring great benefits and, after the success of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which has raised more than 127 million dollars worldwide, it is no wonder.
At the moment, the streaming service has given the green light to eight episodes for season 1. Time will tell if more will be added later or if they prefer to play it safe. Another thing that will have to wait to find out are the details of the plot of Dungeons & Dragons live action, as well as the canon elements that will be included. At the moment, everything moves under the strictest secrecy and nobody managed to find out what fans of the show can expect.
What we do know is that Rawson Marshall Thurber wrote the pilot for the series and will direct the first episode, so we already have two big names on this ship…and we can’t wait to learn more details!
Dungeons & Dragons will premiere soon on Paramount+.
