The title pretty much says it all about this week’s 9-1-1. Love was definitely in the air, but some characters had better experiences than others. We think it’s safe to say that by the end of the episode, Chim was in a much better place than he was a week ago. Athena and Bobby also shared some sweet moments this week. but Eddie pretty much struck out in finding someone to date. And Buck completely blew up his love life in this episode.

Finding the Engagement Ring
It didn’t take long for Maddie to find the ring that Chim bought. And honestly, we’re relieved that the show didn’t drag this out for too long. And we’re even happier that she decided that she wants to marry Chim. It wasn’t the most traditional proposal with Maddie trying the ring on and then not being able to get it off, but hey, it worked. Their little family is so cute and they deserve all the happiness in the world. We can’t wait for the wedding!
We liked that Maddie and Hen were able to have an honest conversation with each other and get their feelings out in the open. Hen and Maddie are the two most important people in Chim’s life and it’s essential that they’re able to get along and co-exist. We’re also happy that Chim can move on from trying to find signs and trying to decide if he should propose or not. The next time Chim’s unsure about Maddie’s feelings, he should probably just ask her.

Love is Great. Dating’s Not.
Eddie and Buck found out this week in “Love is in the Air” that dating isn’t such a great experience. Eddie’s decided he’s ready to get back to dating so he goes golfing and hiking (in the same day) to try to find a nice girl. It’s a pretty epic failure. He wants the same love that he had with his wife, but he needs to be honest with himself. While he’ll probably find love again (because he’s Eddie… who wouldn’t want to date him?), it’s not going to be the same as what he had before. Especially since he met his wife when he was in the 8th grade.
Buck had an even worse week since every time he tried to spend time with Natalia, he was interrupted by ex-girlfriends. This seemed so random. Lucy just showed up out of nowhere, and then Taylor was on TV talking about her experiences with the 118. And then Kameron shows up after a fight with her husband. Of course Natalia was somewhat freaked out. This was so much to take in and she hasn’t even known Buck for that long. We really liked Natalia, and we’re disappointed that the show decided to go this route. We’ll be even angrier if the show makes Buck fall for Kameron since he’s the sperm donor of her child. Please, writers, we’re begging you: don’t do it!

Other Thoughts:
- Of course all of the rescues revolved around love this week. We laughed when the 118 delivered the bride to her wedding, and cried when the young wife lost her husband to a brain tumor. Love can be wonderful, but it can also be gut-wrenching and heartbreaking.
- We love Bobby and Athena. We can’t believe they’re celebrating their fourth anniversary, but we love that they’re still going strong.
- How is next week the season finale? It seems like we just started this season! Luckily, it’s been renewed for another season even if it’s switching networks.
9-1-1 airs Mondays at 8/7c on Fox.
