We’ve all told our parents plenty of lies. TBH, I know some of us have told more lies than truths, because our parents aren’t always understanding.
We think though that parent’s don’t catch onto things, but they always seem to. The always seem to know our every move and are there to confront us with it. They know when we’re lying and they know when we’re telling the truth.
And then of course there are the times that our parents know we are lying, but they don’t know the extent of it, so that’s always a good thing.
When on Watch What Happens Live, Maya Hawke, daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, about the worst trouble she ever got in. It involved a lie that she told to her parents.
She said that she was going to therapy, but in reality she was going to loose her virginity.
“I said I was going to therapy and I really went to lose my virginity,” Mya said. Adding that when she got home her Dad was “very, very upset.”
“He went, ‘Where were you? Where did you go?’ And I said, ‘How am I supposed to have secrets if I can’t tell lies?'” she said.
We kinda love Maya’s retort more than anything. That’s some genius level replies to her Dad.
