If you were a 90s kid, you wanted one. Everyone wanted one.
Zach Galifianakis and Elizabeth Banks are here to take us back to a moment in time when kids (and some adults) were going crazy over Beanie Babies. And because there’s always a story behind every big thing, the movie, which is set to premiere in select theaters on July 21st, and on Apple TV+ on July 28th, will pull back the curtain on the toy craze, and the people behind it.
The official synopsis for the movie reads:
Why did the world suddenly treat stuffed animals like gold? Ty Warner was a frustrated toy salesman until his collaboration with three women grew his masterstroke of an idea into the biggest toy craze in history. “The Beanie Bubble” is an inventive story about what and who we value, and the unsung heroes whose names didn’t appear on the heart-shaped tag.
