James Cameron isn’t typically the kind of guy you see on Twitter debunking rumors. He is no James Gunn in that regard, let us never confuse him. So when he took to Twitter to say that he was not working on a movie about the OceanGate submersible and he never would, well, that probably meant he’d reached his breaking point.
The internet likes to make up things. Or, they like to put 2 and 2 together and have that add up to 5. James Cameron made a movie about the Titanic. He knows a lot about the Titanic. The Titan submersible was tangentially related to the Titanic. Every tragedy in the history of the world should have a movie. Therefore, James Cameron. Or something like that.
Well, Cameron didn’t come to play. His answer was unequivocal.
But if there’s ever a movie about that, James Cameron made it clear he won’t be involved.
