Social media is a blessing and a curse. If we’re being honest, we’re thinking about how beautiful it’s been that it brings so many people together, but also dreading just how sad it makes us at times.
Well, mainly Twitter (and yes, we refuse to call it X) because it’s a cess pool of the worst of humanity. That being said though, we admit our addiction to social media. We admit that there are times that we think that we can go without it, but then we know that’s a pipe dream.
And we’re slapped back to reality.
We wish that we could be as strong as Millie Bobbie Brown and erase certain applications from our phone. Life would be so much easier in so many ways, if we were able to just do that.
The actress talked with WWD recently and talked about just why it is that she erased the Instagram app from her phone.
The actress said, “I personally feel it wasn’t adding anything to my life. And I felt positive when I didn’t have it on my phone. I just felt like I could live my life with more confidence and freedom, mental freedom [without social media]. I just feel better for it. But that doesn’t mean that the good social media I don’t get to see: I just have a wonderful team that kind of censors it all, so that I can protect myself.”
We love that she protects her heart and her sanity. We feel like that’s an important thing to do for ones soul.
What do you think? How does social media change you both positively and negatively?
